RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery
Rebecca is a Canterbury-born Massey graduate veterinary surgeon, who lives in North Canterbury with her husband, 2 kids and the obligatory much-adored large pet family that goes with being a vet; 3 cats and a dog.
Rebecca developed a passion for surgery while working in the UK in the early 2000’s and since then has undertaken extensive additional training and multiple post-graduate qualifications in both the UK and Australia.
Rebecca practices in all areas of soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, with her particular interests including trauma, orthopaedics, brachycephalic airway surgery, pain management, critical care and anaesthesia. She enjoys caring for working and sporting dogs as well as family pets.
In additional to work in practice, Rebecca contributes to the vet community in several voluntary roles. She is Head Subject Examiner for ANZCVS Membership exams in Surgery, delivering exams to other vets in the subject, and also serves on the ANZCVS Surgery Chapter Committee. She is also Lead Trainer for “Vets for Compassion”, a program which works to improve animal welfare in China by training Chinese Vets in higher standard veterinary practice.
