Originally from Wellington, Catherine Morganti graduated from Massey University Veterinary School in 1987. Whilst working there, she developed a special interest in small animal medicine and ultrasound, gaining her hard earned certificate in Small Animal Medicine in 1997. The pull of NZL was great, and luckily for us she returned home 18 months ago with husband Kit, 2 children, Issy and Jonny and a few cats. Terryne Loney

Terryne Loney

Veterinarian BVSc. Dip Hom

Terryne graduated from Massey in 1995. After spending a few years in mixed practice in NZ and the UK she settled back into companion animal practice ever since.

She has completed numerous courses since, especially in intensive care, anaesthesia, pain management, internal medicine, oncology, soft tissue surgery, stress free handling and a Diploma in Homeopathy.

She is interested in all aspects of medicine and has developed a recent interest in dentistry. Recent dentistry courses and tuition from Veterinary Dentists have meant she is able to offer some alternatives to extraction in teeth that are important to retain. A particular recent interest is in the formation of large cysts that occur from uninterrupted teeth, detecting these early to try and prevent major surgery being the only option.

She currently has 2 standard poodles, 3 cats, tropical fish and chickens in her menagerie.

Massey University graduate 1992, and worked in private practice in New Zealand and as an Assistant Lecturer in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at Massey for 2 & ½ years. Whilst at Massey completed MANZVSc examination in Radiology before embarking on OE to the UK. Worked in private practice in London for 2 & ½ years before returning to New Zealand the slow way. Worked as a Senior Medical Registrar for 2 years at Sydney University Veterinary Hospital completing a Dip VCS and returned for a sabbatical to The Royal Veterinary College in London to complete the Royal College examinations in Veterinary Cardiology. Finally returned to New Zealand working in Auckland and Hamilton for several years before retraining in human echocardiography (ultrasound of the heart) and moving full-circle back to Christchurch to work in the Cardiology Department of Christchurch Public Hospital.

Having since returned to my original vocation, I now work virtually solely performing ultrasound of the heart and abdomen of referral patients. This includes interventional procedures and minimally invasive biopsy techniques.

In my (limited) spare time, I entertain our three year old twins, slave away on our lifestyle block and enjoy the rivers, mountains and coast that Canterbury and the South Island has to offer.
